Collaboration Opportunities: WIOA Youth Programs and Registered Apprenticeships
About
The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is promoting and supporting the expansion of Registered Apprenticeships for Youth for both in-school and out-of-school, between the ages of 16-24 years.
Registered Apprenticeship models of job preparation, validated by DOL or a DOL-recognized State Apprenticeship Agency, combines paid on the job training (OJT) with related instruction to progressively increase workers’ skill levels and wages.
Because Registered Apprenticeships are effective models that expose young people to career pathways, prepare youth for success in the work place and further education after high school, we encourage the leveraging of Registered Apprenticeships for WIOA Youth program participants to maximize youth opportunities and their outcomes.
ETA has invested in numerous opportunities to expand Registered Apprenticeships. To learn more about apprenticeships in your communities, visit the Apprenticeship Finder.
